Amarantina Miyahara Brown, known affectionately as Tina, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2023, at the age of 97 in Evanston, Illinois. Born on November 22, 1926, in Vetlanda, Sweden, Tina lived a vibrant and fulfilling life marked by her passion for music, dancing and her pets.

Tina was preceded in death by her first husband, Hayao Rex Miyahara; her second husband, Jack Leon Brown; her daughter, Tami L. Miyahara; and her grandson, Jordan M. Sokolnik. She is survived by her loving daughters, Dorothy (Charles) Saunders and Rexine (Joseph) Shemroske, and her much loved grandchildren, their spouses, and her adored great-grandchildren.

A private interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery in Chicago, IL. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to any animal shelter in memory of Tina, reflecting her love for animals.
